Job Summary
To manage litigation risk for the Enterprise, the full-time salaried Florida Licensed Assistant General Counsel will handle various disputes, provide legal advice to leadership, and oversee outside counsel, with the option for remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle disputes including lawsuits, arbitration demands, and government investigations for GuideWell and its affiliates
- Manage outside counsel and ensure compliance with budgetary parameters while defending or prosecuting litigation
- Provide strategic legal advice to business areas and act as the legal contact for external stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with a strong academic record and 5+ years of professional experience
- Admission to at least one state bar, with the ability to be certified in Florida as Authorized House Counsel if admitted in another state
- Extensive litigation experience managing a diverse caseload
- General knowledge of health insurance laws, regulations, and compliance standards
- Demonstrated experience in developing legal strategies and leadership skills
