Job Summary
To ensure accurate coding and compliance, the full-time Florida Licensed Coder II will review medical records, assign ICD-10 CM and CPT codes, and manage coding edits while working remotely within Florida.
Key responsibilities:
- Review and assign ICD-10 CM codes and CPT codes for complex outpatient encounters
- Conduct audits and coding reviews with healthcare professionals to ensure documentation accuracy
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding coding errors and disputes for physician billing
Required qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Coding Specialist (CCS) or relevant coding certification (e.g., RHIA, RHIT)
- Two years of hospital-based outpatient coding experience or completion of an internal Coder Intern Program
- Strong proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding classification systems
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changes in the coding field
