Job Summary
To support patient care in a fully remote setting, the full-time Florida Licensed Genetic Counselor will provide genetic counseling, conduct risk assessments, and communicate vital information to medical providers while advocating for patient rights and safety.
Key responsibilities
- Promotes and advocates for the health, safety, and rights of patients while providing counseling on genetic diagnoses and treatment options
- Communicates patient information to medical providers and obtains informed consent for gene testing
- Participates in quality improvement projects and develops educational sessions for professional staff and the public
Required qualifications
- Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an ACGC accredited program
- Certified Genetic Counselor (CGC) certification
- 1+ year of prior experience as a genetic counselor (preferred)
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations impacting service delivery
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical records systems (preferred)
