Florida Licensed Hospice Physician

Job Summary

To facilitate timely access to care for eligible patients, the part-time Florida Licensed Hospice Physician will provide physician services to the Patient Access Department, ensuring compliance with regulatory documentation and offering education to admissions personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Director of Patient Access Services to maximize hospice care access for eligible patients
• Evaluate patient information and determine initial and ongoing eligibility for hospice services based on clinical indicators
• Complete written certifications and clinical narratives for admitted patients while ordering necessary medications for comfort

Required qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Licensed to practice medicine in Florida, with a willingness to obtain additional state licenses
• Current DEA number and Medicare/Medicaid numbers
• Minimum of five years' experience or completion of a Fellowship
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association or the Red Cross
