Florida Licensed Hospice Physician

Job Summary

To facilitate timely access to hospice care for eligible patients, the part-time Florida Licensed Hospice Physician will collaborate with the Patient Access Department, provide physician direction and education, and complete necessary regulatory documentation for admissions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Director of Patient Access Services to maximize patient access to hospice care
• Reviews and evaluates patient information to determine eligibility for hospice services
• Completes written certification and clinical narratives for admitted patients, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards

Required qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Licensed to practice medicine in Florida, with a willingness to obtain licenses in additional states
• Current DEA number and Medicare/Medicaid numbers
• Minimum of five years' experience or Fellowship in a relevant field
• Active BLS certification from an accredited organization
