Florida Licensed Hospice Physician

Job Summary

To facilitate timely access to hospice care, the part-time Florida Licensed Hospice Physician will provide physician services to the Patient Access Department, ensuring eligibility for hospice services, completing necessary documentation, and offering education to admissions personnel.

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Patient Access/Admissions Department to maximize access to hospice care for eligible patients
• Review and evaluate patient information to determine initial and ongoing eligibility for hospice services
• Complete written certifications and clinical narratives for admitted patients and order necessary medications for comfort

Required qualifications:

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Licensed to practice medicine in Florida with the willingness to obtain additional state licenses
• Current DEA number and Medicare/Medicaid numbers
• Minimum of five years of experience or completion of a fellowship
• Active BLS certification from a recognized organization
