Florida Licensed Hospice Physician

Job Summary

To facilitate timely access to care for eligible patients, the part-time Florida Licensed Hospice Physician will collaborate with the Patient Access Department, provide physician direction, and complete necessary documentation for hospice admissions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Patient Access/Admissions Department to maximize patient access to hospice services
• Determine initial and ongoing eligibility for hospice services based on medical evaluations and regulatory guidelines
• Provide education to staff regarding eligibility requirements and regulatory changes impacting the admissions process

Required qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Licensed to practice medicine in Florida, with willingness to obtain licenses in additional states as required
• Current DEA number and Medicare/Medicaid numbers
• Minimum of five years of experience or completion of a fellowship
• Active BLS certification from a recognized organization
