Florida Licensed Hospital Coding Liaison

Job Summary

To ensure accurate and efficient coding across multiple facilities, the part-time Florida Licensed Hospital Coding Liaison will perform chart reviews, resolve account issues, and provide coding education while maintaining compliance with established guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct focused reviews for accuracy of diagnoses and procedure code assignments to ensure billing compliance and optimal reimbursement
• Maintain high coding quality standards by assigning accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes using electronic encoder applications
• Develop and present educational materials and provide expert feedback during coding meetings and training sessions

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or coding certificate preferred
• Must maintain one of the following certifications: CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, COC, or CPC-H
• Seven years of relevant hospital inpatient and/or outpatient coding experience required
• Thorough knowledge of official coding guidelines as per AMA, AHA, and CMS
• Advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology
