Florida Licensed Lead Coding Specialist
Job Summary
To ensure the accuracy of medical record coding and DRG assignment, the full-time Florida Licensed Lead Coding Specialist will conduct audits, provide training, and serve as a coding resource while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct regular monitoring and audits of medical record coding and DRG assignments
- Train new employees in coding procedures and provide supervisory feedback on performance
- Consult with physicians and Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists on coding queries
Required qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Applied Science or Science
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in inpatient acute care coding
- CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) certification required
- Experience in a supervisory or management role preferred
- Florida state licensure is not required
