Job Summary
To support oncology services, the full-time Florida Licensed Oncology Benefits Specialist will manage pre-authorizations for chemotherapy treatments, verify insurance eligibility, and communicate with physician offices regarding medical necessity, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Obtain and document initial and subsequent pre-authorizations for chemotherapy and research protocols
- Review clinical data and insurance requirements to ensure compliance with medical necessity and payer guidelines
- Communicate effectively with service line partners and insurance companies regarding authorization issues and eligibility
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Medical Billing Claims Specialist Course
- Advanced understanding of insurance knowledge and benefits
- Experience with hospital electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Ability to adhere to government guidelines such as CMS and HIPAA
