Florida Licensed Oncology Data Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing oncology practice, the full-time Florida Licensed Oncology Data Specialist will manage the abstraction of cancer cases into the registry database, ensuring compliance with reporting standards and maintaining accurate records in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily abstraction of cancer cases and submit to the State Central Registry as required
• Resolve data discrepancies prior to case submission and maintain detailed logs of all records
• Request additional treatment information from managing physicians when necessary to ensure complete data abstraction

Required qualifications

• Minimum of three years of oncology data abstracting experience, with recent abstraction within the past year
• Oncology Data Specialist-Certified (ODS-C) certification required
• Knowledge of ICD-O, AJCC Cancer Staging Manual, and SEER coding standards
• Experience with database record management and cancer registry procedures
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and medical record standards
