Florida Licensed Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

To support outpatient surgical and observation coding, the full-time Florida Licensed Outpatient Coder will assign CPT/HCPCS codes, review clinical documentation for accuracy, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Assign CPT/HCPCS codes and modifiers for outpatient surgical, interventional, and observation encounters
• Review clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding and compliance with regulatory standards
• Maintain productivity and turnaround time standards to support timely claim submissions

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in observation and surgery coding or completion of specific training
• Certification as a CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or CIRCC
• Advanced knowledge of CPT/HCPCS coding and outpatient coding guidelines
• Strong understanding of OPPS/APC reimbursement methodologies and modifier usage
