Job Summary

To support healthcare operations, the full-time Florida Licensed Outpatient Coder will abstract, code, and interpret clinical information from various medical records while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining a high-quality rating in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Abstract and code clinical information from inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department records, ensuring accurate sequencing of diagnoses and procedures
• Utilize technical coding principles and reimbursement expertise to assign appropriate codes and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
• Track productivity and maintain a 95% quality rating while adhering to company policies, including HIPAA compliance

Required qualifications

• Successful completion of an AAPC or AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program
• Two years of post-certification coding experience
• Experience with EPIC and CAC systems
• Knowledge of coding conventions established by relevant professional organizations
• Understanding of coding compliance and HIPAA HITECH standards
