Florida Licensed Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Florida Licensed Outpatient Coder, the successful candidate will be responsible for abstracting, coding, and interpreting clinical information from various medical records while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Abstract, code, and sequence clinical information from inpatient and outpatient medical records
• Assign correct principal and secondary diagnoses and procedure codes, ensuring accurate sequencing
• Maintain compliance with external regulatory requirements and track productivity levels as defined by clients

Required qualifications:

• Successful completion of an AAPC or AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program
• Two years of post-certification experience in coding
• Experience with EPIC and CAC systems
• Knowledge of coding conventions and compliance standards, including HIPAA and JCAHO
• Proficiency in using various software applications for coding and data entry
