Job Summary
To support healthcare operations, the full-time Florida Licensed Outpatient Coder will abstract, code, and interpret clinical information from various medical records while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining a 95% quality rating in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Abstract and code clinical information from inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department records, ensuring accurate sequencing of diagnoses and procedures
- Utilize technical coding principles and reimbursement expertise to assign appropriate codes and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
- Track and document productivity levels while entering codes into various computer systems based on client needs
Required qualifications
- Successful completion of an AAPC or AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program
- Two years of post-certification coding experience
- Experience with EPIC and CAC systems
- Knowledge of coding conventions and rules established by relevant medical associations
- Familiarity with HIPAA and coding compliance standards
