Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Florida Licensed Remote Coder will edit and review medical documentation to determine appropriate coding for surgical services, manage patient chart data entry, and serve as a coding resource for the team.

Key responsibilities

• Edit and review captured charges and medical documentation for accurate coding and modifiers
• Communicate discrepancies in documentation with coding support staff and supervisors
• Assist with escalated coding questions and maintain open communication with the coding team

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in physician-based coding for outpatient/inpatient and surgical procedures
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent coding certification
• Substantial knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and modifiers
• Proficiency with Microsoft software
