Job Summary
Analyzing and underwriting consumer and residential mortgage loan requests, the remote Florida Licensed Residential Underwriter will evaluate creditworthiness, repayment capacity, and collateral adequacy while ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Underwrite various consumer loan requests and portfolio mortgage loans, ensuring adherence to lending guidelines
- Assess borrower risk profiles, including evaluating credit reports, income verification, and collateral documentation
- Collaborate with loan officers and other stakeholders to communicate approval conditions and maintain complete loan documentation
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field
- 3-7 years of experience in consumer and/or residential mortgage underwriting
- Proficiency in conventional and portfolio mortgage underwriting
- Community banking experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
