Job Summary
To support the Cardiovascular Department, the full-time Florida Licensed Surgical Charge Auditor will audit procedural patient records for accurate charges and documentation, communicate with management regarding discrepancies, and educate staff on best practices, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Audit procedural patient records in the Cardiovascular Department and Operating Room for appropriate charges and clinical documentation
- Review and verify the accuracy of charges entered for OR/Cardiac Cath procedures, providing solutions for discrepancies
- Educate staff on charging and documentation updates while supplying monthly reports on charge problems to department leadership
Required qualifications
- Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, Radiologic Technology, or Respiratory Therapy
- Knowledge of electronic medical records and proficiency in Excel and Word
- Experience with charge capture, inventory, and supply purchasing preferred
- Operating Room/Cath lab/Interventional Radiology experience preferred
- Licenses such as Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) preferred
