Forward Deployed Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Forward Deployed Engineer will engage directly with developers to facilitate the evaluation and integration of SpacetimeDB, serving as the primary technical contact throughout the sales process and customer onboarding.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with the Founding Sales Lead to guide customers from initial evaluation to successful deployment of SpacetimeDB
- Assist developers with architecture questions, proofs of concept, and resolving complex technical issues during integration
- Collaborate with the engineering team to gather customer feedback and drive product improvements based on technical engagements
Required qualifications
- Experience as a software engineer with a strong background in web application development and modern backend architecture
- Proficiency in databases, APIs, networking, distributed systems, and application architecture
- Ability to lead technical discussions with engineers and technical decision-makers
- Experience in deploying or integrating developer platforms, databases, or cloud services
- Familiarity with multiplayer game development or real-time collaborative applications is highly desirable
