Founding Engineer, Consumer Apps

Job Summary

As the first engineer on the new B2C team, the full-time remote Founding Engineer, Consumer Apps will architect, build, and ship Placer's initial consumer apps on Android and iOS, managing the entire technical product lifecycle from prototype to launch while ensuring a high-quality user experience.

Key responsibilities:

• Architect and develop consumer apps and backend services, ensuring scalability for millions of users
• Own the user experience, focusing on onboarding, engagement, and retention through data-driven improvements
• Implement analytics and A/B testing to measure funnel performance and guide product decisions

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 4 years on B2C consumer-facing mobile apps
• Proven passion for UX with a track record of shipped consumer experiences
• Mastery of AI development tools and experience using them to enhance productivity
• Experience integrating SDKs and building APIs on cloud platforms, preferably Python and GCP
