Founding Harness Engineer
Job Summary
To support the development of an AI coworker, the contract-based Founding Harness Engineer will build the agent runtime, manage context and tool interactions, and collaborate with the founding team and early users while working remotely in the US.
Key responsibilities
- Build the agent runtime, including context management, tool selection, and approval processes
- Write and refine system prompts while ensuring effective communication within the team
- Own the evaluation and regression harness to ensure prompt changes are rigorously tested
Required qualifications
- Experience shipping tool-using LLM agents to real users in production
- Strong instincts for agent initiative supported by test results
- Hands-on experience with evaluation and regression suites for LLM behavior
- Solid backend skills in Python or TypeScript, including experience with async jobs and state management
- Ability to navigate fuzzy problems from prototype to production while explaining tradeoffs
