Fraud Risk Assessment Consultant

Job Summary

To support the DHA VHA in establishing a Fraud Rapid Response Center, the remote Fraud Risk Assessment Consultant will evaluate fraud vulnerabilities, assess internal controls, conduct risk analyses, and develop actionable recommendations to enhance fraud prevention and monitoring across VHA programs.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct fraud risk assessments to identify and prioritize fraud vulnerabilities across VHA programs
• Evaluate program processes and internal controls, supporting control testing and recommending enhancements
• Develop training materials and knowledge transfer resources to sustain fraud risk management activities within the VA

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Active Public Trust Clearance
• 3-5+ years of relevant experience in fraud risk assessments or fraud risk management
• Working knowledge of fraud risk management frameworks, including the GAO Fraud Risk Framework
• Ability to pass a Tier 2 / Moderate Background Investigation (MBI) and obtain a VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card
