Job Summary

To support daily NYC content creation, the remote Freelance Content Creator will ideate, write, produce, and publish engaging and culturally relevant material while collaborating with the editorial team on a project-based contract.

Key responsibilities

• Write and publish original content that aligns with Overheard's voice and resonates with a New York audience
• Shoot and edit short-form videos using consumer-grade equipment, maintaining a social-first production style
• Contribute fresh ideas for editorial posts and video formats rooted in NYC culture during pitch meetings

Required qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in editorial or social content creation, media, or a similar creative field
• Exceptional writing skills with a comedic sensibility that matches Overheard's specific voice
• Deep familiarity with New York City culture and local conversations
• Proven ability to create social-first content for platforms like Instagram and TikTok
• Comfortable shooting and editing video on iPhone or consumer-grade equipment
