Job Summary

To support the daily content creation and editorial coverage of Complex Latin, the part-time Freelance Social Media Editor will work remotely on weekends, focusing on creating and publishing engaging social content in both English and Spanish across various platforms, while collaborating with the editorial team to highlight U.S. Latino culture.

Key responsibilities

• Support the creation, curation, and publishing of content for Complex Latin's social channels, including Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook
• Identify and execute timely stories and trending topics relevant to the audience, with a focus on Latin culture and music
• Write, edit, and publish bilingual social copy, ensuring cultural sensitivity and accuracy in all content

Required qualifications

• 1-3+ years of experience in social media publishing or digital editorial, preferably with a media company or culturally relevant brand
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish, with strong writing and editing skills in both languages
• Deep knowledge of U.S. Latino culture and its diverse communities
• Experience with major social platforms and content creation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
