Front-End Developer, SME
Job Summary
Serving as a technical authority on user interface design, the remote Front-End Developer, SME will guide the development of user-centered web interfaces for the IRS Business Tax Account modernization initiative, ensuring compliance with federal standards while mentoring the development team.
Key responsibilities:
- Guide the design and development of responsive, accessible web interfaces using React, JavaScript/Typescript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Ensure compliance with USWDS, ODG, and WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards through code reviews and best practices
- Collaborate with product owners and back-end engineers to define technical approaches for scalable UI components
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience as a front-end developer, with at least 7+ years in a senior or SME-level role
- Proven experience in Agile/Scrum environments delivering enterprise-scale web applications
- Strong experience with React and JavaScript frameworks in AWS/Kubernetes environments
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust background investigation
