Job Summary
Working fully remote, the Front-End UI/UX Designer will design, prototype, and implement user-centric web interfaces for the National Water Prediction Service platform, ensuring accessibility and responsiveness across devices.
Key responsibilities
- Create high-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes in Figma for new features, including interactive charts and dashboards
- Design and implement responsive layouts optimized for mobile and tablet devices, ensuring performance and legibility of complex data
- Collaborate with developers and geospatial engineers in Agile sprints to ensure code compliance with approved designs and accessibility standards
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Graphic Design, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in designing public-facing web interfaces or geospatial applications
- Demonstrated portfolio showcasing responsive web designs and interactive data visualizers
- Experience applying Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility guidelines to web interfaces
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks such as React or Vue
