GCP Data Engineer
Job Summary
To design and build automated solutions for data discovery and lineage management, the remote GCP Data Engineer will collaborate within an Agile team, focusing on implementing features that adhere to best coding standards while utilizing GCP services and tools.
Key responsibilities:
- Build programmatic upstream and downstream data lineage across multiple GCP projects and BigQuery datasets
- Develop Python/SQL-based services and pipelines to collect, normalize, validate, and store metadata in BigQuery
- Implement secure cross-project access using GCP service accounts and IAM roles while building monitoring and audit capabilities for metadata processing
Required qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL
- Experience with Google BigQuery, Dataflow, and/or Cloud Data Fusion
- Understanding of data lineage, metadata management, and data quality
- Engineering degree (BE/ME/BTech/MTech/BSc/MSc) or equivalent technical certification
