Genomics Senior Staff Scientist

Job Summary

Collaborating with a diverse clinical laboratory team, the full-time salaried Genomics Senior Staff Scientist will prioritize and interpret genetic variants from clinical sequencing data, draft clinical reports, and contribute to the development of molecular diagnostic tests while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and classify clinically significant sequence variants using established tools and workflows
• Summarize and communicate analysis results effectively in both written and verbal formats
• Participate in the development and validation of new clinical-grade genetic tests and workflows

Required qualifications

• PhD or MS in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related discipline
• Four or more years of experience in genetics or cancer genetics, with at least one year in a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory
• Experience with next-generation sequencing and variant classification/curation
• Proficiency in databases and tools commonly used in genetics and genomics (e.g., ClinVar, gnomAD)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
