Genomics Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support the Precision Diagnostics team, the full-time salaried Genomics Software Engineer will develop, implement, and maintain enterprise genomics platforms, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance clinical diagnostics and translational research.
Key responsibilities
- Analyzes, designs, builds, and modifies software applications and systems integration to automate business processes
- Collaborates with applications staff to gather, analyze, and document business and user requirements for software development efforts
- Participates in Production Support on-call rotation and troubleshoots performance and system availability issues
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Minimum of three (3) years of related experience is required
- Proven development experience with at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Python, C++)
- Proficiency with relational databases and UNIX environment
- Experience in developing algorithms for next-generation sequencing data is preferred
