Geographic Information System Analyst
Job Summary
Supporting the National Marine Fisheries Service, the full-time Geographic Information System Analyst will assist in managing environmental GIS programs, integrating data into GIS databases, and creating maps to convey information about protected species and environmental factors, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with the management and implementation of environmental GIS programs
- Support the design and creation of environmental GIS databases and maps for reporting purposes
- Conduct spatial analysis and modeling to assess environmental impacts and data integration
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Earth Science, Computer Science, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Fisheries, or a related field, with four years of GIS experience
- Knowledge of GIS principles, terminology, and methods
- Advanced cartographic and spatial analysis skills
- Experience with geodatabases and relational databases
- Ability to build web maps and applications
