Job Summary
Combining hands-on coding with team mentorship, the full-time remote Georgia Licensed Coding Team Lead will manage client interactions, oversee coding quality, and support coder development while ensuring compliance and financial integrity in outpatient surgical coding.
Key responsibilities
- Interface with clients and internal revenue cycle teams to assist with inquiries and support
- Review production coder work for quality and provide feedback to enhance coding practices
- Assist in denial management and coding reviews to drive client education and satisfaction
Required qualifications
- Coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, COC, RHIT, CCS, etc., no apprentice designation)
- 5 years of outpatient surgical coding experience
- 1 year of team lead experience or demonstrated leadership qualities
- Successful completion of formal education in ICD-9-CM/ICD-10/CPT coding, medical terminology, and anatomy/physiology
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care coding experience across all patient types
