Georgia Licensed Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

Joining a collaborative team, the full-time Georgia Licensed Inpatient Coder will provide accurate assignment of ICD-10 diagnostic and PCS procedural codes for inpatient hospital encounters while working primarily onsite in Atlanta, Georgia.

Key responsibilities

• Reviews medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures, assigning appropriate ICD-10 codes
• Abstracts diagnostic and procedural codes into the network system as per policy and procedures
• Monitors assigned work queues for missing documentation and codes any accounts that were missed

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of three years of experience in a hospital inpatient setting
• Certification as a Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC)
