Georgia Licensed Inpatient Coder
Job Summary
Offering a $7,500 sign-on bonus, the full-time Georgia Licensed Inpatient Coder will work onsite Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing accurate assignment of ICD-10 diagnostic and PCS procedural codes for inpatient hospital encounters.
Key responsibilities
- Reviews medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures, assigning appropriate ICD-10 codes
- Abstracts diagnostic and procedural codes into the network system as per policy and procedures
- Monitors assigned work queues, addressing any missed documentation and coding as necessary
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three years of experience in a hospital inpatient setting
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC)
