Georgia Licensed Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

Reviewing and coding hospital inpatient medical records, the full-time Georgia Licensed Inpatient Coder will select and sequence appropriate ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM/PCS codes while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and code documentation for inpatient medical records to ensure accurate coding
• Select and sequence appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes according to ICD guidelines
• Maintain compliance with coding standards and regulations while working in a remote capacity

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
• 1 year of hospital coding experience required
• One or more relevant coding certifications required (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CPC)
• Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) preferred
• Experience in a multi-hospital organization and remote coding preferred
