Job Summary
Reviewing and analyzing clinical information, the full-time Georgia Licensed RN Appeals Writer will draft narratives for Medicare and Medicaid appeals documentation, assist with hearings, and collaborate with legal resources, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct detailed review and analysis of clinical information from patient medical records for appeals documentation
- Maintain knowledge of medical coding and federal/state regulations regarding medical necessity and utilization review
- Assist in preparation for beneficiary hearings and potentially testify as an expert witness
Required qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- 7 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting with electronic medical records or acute hospital utilization review
- Previous experience with medical record auditing and medical necessity claims
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
- IQCI Certification preferred
