Graduate Advisor

Job Summary

Supporting online graduate education students, the part-time Graduate Advisor will develop action plans, provide individual advising, and promote student success and retention in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide academic advising, including assistance with registration, major selection, and course withdrawals
• Conduct comprehensive needs assessments and promote ongoing student engagement to enhance retention and graduation rates
• Design and deliver workshops focused on student wellness and academic skills, while making referrals to additional support services

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• Knowledge of graduate education, teacher preparation, and online learning environments
• Experience in higher education with student information systems and retention management tools
• Ability to build rapport with diverse student populations; bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications
