Handler Certification Specialist

Job Summary

Providing technical services to certify organic handler operations, the full-time Handler Certification Specialist will ensure clients have fair access to the certification process while working remotely in the United States.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver technical services to certified organic processor/handler clients, including mid-year updates and compliance reviews
• Make autonomous decisions regarding client compliance with USDA NOP and other organic standards
• Maintain accurate client database records and assist with special projects as directed by Handler Certification Leadership

Required qualifications:

• B.A. or B.S. degree in food science, chemistry, or related field, or three years of relevant work experience
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and database programs, with the ability to manage emails and maintain accurate records
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with experience providing technical support and customer service
• Ability to think critically and autonomously to propose solutions to compliance-related issues
• Experience working collaboratively in a team environment to achieve common goals
