Head of Africa Region

Job Summary

Providing strategic and operational leadership, the full-time salaried Head of Africa Region will develop and drive the Africa regional strategy, manage complex grant deliverables, and lead a distributed team focused on combating illegal fishing and advancing marine protection, while working remotely from Senegal or Kenya.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement the Africa regional strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
• Oversee grant deliverables and maintain financial stewardship, ensuring compliance and timely reporting
• Supervise and mentor the regional team, fostering a high-performance culture and operational excellence

Required Qualifications

• Progressive management experience leading multi-country programs in Africa, preferably in an NGO or intergovernmental agency
• Proven track record of managing large, complex multi-donor grants with robust financial oversight
• Demonstrated success in high-level governmental relationships and policy outcomes
• Experience with operational management and project implementation frameworks
• Professional fluency in both English and French
