Head of Data Governance

Job Summary

To lead data governance initiatives and ensure data is trusted and AI-ready, the full-time Head of Data Governance will manage the enterprise data governance operating model, shape technical strategies for data cataloging and metadata, and drive policy adoption across a federated organization in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the enterprise data governance operating model, including policy, domain ownership, and data quality controls
• Shape the technical strategy and architecture for data catalog, metadata, and lineage platforms
• Drive adoption of data governance policies and automate classification processes across the organization

Required qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform, or data management with a focus on governance
• 8+ years of experience leading data engineering teams and managing senior architects
• Demonstrated experience in scaling an enterprise data catalog or metadata platform
• Proven track record of owning a data governance operating model end to end
• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field
