Head of EPC Engineering

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Head of EPC Engineering, the role will manage technical diligence, EPC strategy, and engineering oversight while working closely with external engineering resources and leading procurement efforts within a lean, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Review opportunities and conduct technical diligence to identify risks and support investment decisions across various project stages
• Oversee engineering efforts, assess technical risks, and evaluate the impact of project design decisions on economics and risk management
• Prioritize EPC contracting, manage owner's engineer oversight, and negotiate supply contracts while supporting procurement for long-lead equipment

Required Qualifications

• 10 - 15+ years of experience in engineering, EPC, or technical development within the energy storage or renewable energy sector, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
• Direct experience with utility-scale battery energy storage projects, including technical design oversight and EPC contract negotiation
• Proven ability to manage external engineering resources and evaluate counterparty risk effectively
• Experience in leading procurement strategies for long-lead equipment across multiple markets
• High-ownership, low-ego operating style with strong communication skills for conveying technical risks to stakeholders
