Head of Policy

Job Summary

To support a growing nonprofit organization, the full-time Head of Policy will lead the development and execution of policy strategies, engage with state-level policymakers, and manage a team of policy experts in a remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the Policy Team, setting priorities, managing workflows, and ensuring quality control on policy products
• Develop and execute annual policy strategies and campaigns, focusing on state-level engagement with policymakers
• Serve as an ambassador for PowerLines, building relationships with key stakeholders and representing the organization in various external engagements

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in state or federal policy, legislative affairs, or advocacy
• Proven record of developing and executing multi-state legislative or policy campaigns
• Strong relationships with governors' offices, state legislators, and policymaker networks
• Experience building and managing coalitions with diverse partners
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex policy issues
