Health Claims Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Health Claims Specialist will bill and investigate health insurance claims to ensure maximum payment from insurance companies on behalf of hospitals and medical providers.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and research health insurance claims, following up on unresolved claims for commercial health, Medicare, and Medicaid
• File correct UB04's and 1500 HCFA's with subrogation information to payers for payment
• Contribute to team efforts by preparing denial reports and conducting audits

Required qualifications

• Experience researching and resolving claims for commercial health, Medicare, and Medicaid
• Familiarity with billing health insurance related to auto accidents
• Proficiency in using EPIC and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to conduct timely follow-up activities to determine claim status
• Technical proficiency to work on multiple computer screens and software applications simultaneously
