Health Claims Specialist
Job Summary
As a full-time Health Claims Specialist working remotely, the candidate will bill and investigate health insurance claims to ensure maximum payment from insurance companies on behalf of clients, including hospitals and medical providers.
Key responsibilities
- Investigate and research health insurance claims, following up on unresolved claims for commercial health, Medicare, and Medicaid
- File correct UB04's and 1500 HCFA's with subrogation information to payers for payment
- Contribute to team efforts by generating denial reports, conducting audits, and providing overall support
Required qualifications
- Experience researching and resolving claims for commercial health, Medicare, and Medicaid
- Familiarity with billing health insurance related to auto accidents
- Proficient in using EPIC and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to conduct timely follow-up activities to determine claim status
- Technical proficiency to work on multiple computer screens and software applications simultaneously
