Job Summary
Providing health communications and digital media support, the full-time remote Health Communications Specialist I will translate complex data into accessible language, develop audience-specific materials, and coordinate strategic communications within the Office of the Director.
Key responsibilities
- Translate complex data outcomes and methodologies into plain language for diverse audiences
- Develop and manage audience-specific materials, including web content, fact sheets, and social media content
- Provide strategic direction for DHQP data communications and collaborate with CDC communications professionals
Required qualifications
- Four or more years of experience in Health Communications or Public Health Education
- Experience with current 508 compliance requirements and the Clear Communication Index
- Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance
- Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Health Education, Public Health, or a related field is preferred
