Health Information Access Specialist

Job Summary

Collaborating with UW Health Specialty Clinics, the full-time remote Health Information Access Specialist will focus on identifying patient information for scheduling and pre-visit planning, optimizing workflows for record retrieval and prior authorizations, and utilizing electronic medical records for efficient data management.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and gather pertinent patient information to assist in scheduling and pre-visit planning processes
• Streamline workflows around record gathering and abstraction to optimize prior authorization processes
• Utilize electronic medical record functionalities and Access Database for coordinating record retrieval from external providers

Required qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management, Health Information Technology, or a related discipline preferred
• 1 to 3 years of experience in release of information activities, patient access, or direct patient care
• Experience with electronic medical records, preferably EPIC or Care Everywhere
• RHIT, RHIA, CAHIMS, CPHIMS, CRIS, or CNA certifications preferred
• EPIC Certification preferred
