Health Information Access Specialist

Job Summary

To support the efficient management of health information, the full-time Health Information Access Specialist will review and process requests for release of information, ensuring compliance and maintaining the privacy and security of protected health information in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and prioritize requests for release of information, ensuring compliance with regulations and operational needs
• Maintain the privacy and security of all protected health information accessed and released
• Process requests for the timely and accurate release of information to avoid negative impacts on patient care

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Associate's Degree in HIM, HIT, or related discipline preferred
• 1 to 3 years of experience in release of information activities, patient access, or direct patient care in an electronic setting required
• Experience with EMR systems, particularly EPIC, is required
• Relevant certifications such as RHIT, RHIA, or EPIC Certification preferred
