Health Information Specialist
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Health Information Specialist will manage and protect patient health information while ensuring compliance with regulations and standards from 8:30 AM to 5 PM.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and safeguard protected health information (PHI) in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with health information management policies
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to facilitate the proper documentation and use of patient records
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related field
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
- Experience in health information management or a related healthcare setting
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information privacy laws
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and data management tools
