Health Information Specialist
Job Summary
Working remotely, the Health Information Specialist will support the intake and validation of requests into the Verisma Release Manager, ensuring accuracy and optimized turnaround times while processing STAT record requests and handling after-hours phone inquiries.
Key responsibilities:
- Review and intake all requests into the Verisma Release Manager accurately and timely
- Process STAT record requests and provide exemplary customer service to requesters
- Support the resolution of HIPAA-related release issues and ensure compliance with regulations
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; some college preferred
- Minimum 2 years of medical records experience and/or clerical/office work
- Availability to work a rotating schedule of up to 12-hour shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Experience in a healthcare setting and knowledge of HIPAA regulations preferred
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and productivity standards
