Health Services Intake Specialist

Job Summary

To support care management functions, the full-time Health Services Intake Specialist will facilitate eligibility and benefit verification, authorization status inquiries, and documentation processes, initially training onsite before becoming eligible for remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Verify member eligibility and benefits, as well as provider participation and network status
• Document information received via phone, fax, or provider portal accurately and timely
• Support Nurse Care Managers by creating episodes for services and admissions for medical necessity reviews

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years of customer or provider service experience, preferably in the health care industry
• Experience in a production environment with metrics for quality and performance
• Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking to resolve issues while maintaining composure
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
