Healthcare Actuary
Job Summary
To support the ongoing development of analytics tools, the full-time Healthcare Actuary will validate healthcare data, develop algorithms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fully remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate and analyze healthcare transparency data and medical claims datasets to optimize data usage for identifying savings opportunities
- Partner with actuarial, Product, and Engineering teams to translate actuarial principles into user-friendly software tools and scalable algorithms
- Prepare presentations and reports summarizing complex study results for both technical and non-technical audiences, engaging with senior leadership and clients
Required Qualifications
- ASA or FSA credential preferred; candidates close to completing their ASA will also be considered
- 4-7 years of healthcare actuarial experience, with substantial hands-on experience analyzing medical claims data
- Demonstrated ability to apply actuarial rigor to large datasets and proficiency in SQL, Python, or R
- Strong understanding of healthcare claims data and familiarity with plan design and provider networks
- Self-starter with a startup mindset, comfortable navigating ambiguity and collaborating across teams
